What are Linked Notes?

Linked Notes allow you to keep track of the links between your ideas, quotes, and resources. Note linking lets you connect text in a Genei note with sections of resources to create networks of understanding within your projects.

When to create Linked Notes

Linked Notes are perfect if you find an idea in a resource that you want to reference in a note. They’re also great for reminding you where the ideas you wrote in your notes came from. If you have any related concepts in a resource and a note, link them together!

How to create Linked Notes

The following subheadings outline two approaches you can take to connecting resources and notes in Genei.

The Add to Notes button

The Add to Notes button lets you copy content from a resource to a note with a link you can click on to see where it’s come from.

Step 1. Open a resource and a note in which you want to save some ideas.

Step 2. Select some text from the resource and click the Add to Notes button in the toolbar. This button will copy the text from your resource to your note with a link.
